History of Nitasema Foundation

In the early 2021, Jackline Mutiso, a passionate advocate for children’s rights-sexual and gender-based violence (SGBV), recognized the urgent need for comprehensive support for survivors in her community. Inspired by her own journey of healing and empowerment, Jackline embarked on a mission to create a positive impact and address the pervasive issue of SGBV.

Nitasema foundation was founded by Jackline Mwikali Mutiso in 2021. The foundation is a registered foundation. Ms Mutiso came up with the idea of Nitasema after a short running errands at the local administration (Utithi Chiefs office). This task opened her eyes to the magnitude and severity of SGBV in the society . Since then she has dedicated her life in promoting prevention and response i ending SGBV

Jackline founded the Nitasema Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing holistic support and resources to survivors of sexual and gender-based violence. The name “Nitasema” translates to “I will speak” in Swahili, symbolizing the organization’s commitment to breaking the silence surrounding these sensitive issues.

Jackline’s vision for the Nitasema Foundation was rooted in the belief that survivors should not only be empowered to overcome the trauma of their experiences but also provided with the tools and resources needed to rebuild their lives. The organization’s core values centered around advocacy, education, and community outreach.

Over the years, Nitasema Foundation has expanded its reach and impact, collaborating with local communities, government agencies, and international partners. The organization has developed and implemented various programs, including counseling services, legal aid, educational workshops, and vocational training, tailored to address the unique needs of survivors.

Jackline Mutiso’s leadership and unwavering dedication have been instrumental in shaping Nitasema Foundation into a beacon of hope for survivors of SGBV. Through her tireless efforts, the organization has become a catalyst for change, fostering a culture of awareness, support, and empowerment in the fight against sexual and gender-based violence.

As Nitasema Foundation continues to grow and evolve, Jackline’s vision and commitment to creating a world free from SGBV serve as a powerful force, inspiring others to join the cause and contribute to the ongoing struggle for justice, healing, and equality.
